Let me paint the picture for you: on a sunny June day, creative collaborators & friends from all areas of the industry came together to create a little magic up at an artists’ retreat tucked away in the Catskill Mountains.
Mount Tremper Arts was a perfect blank canvas for all of us to work our creative magic. Originally founded by artists, the grounds supports an artists residency program and features many art centric events and performances throughout the year, in addition to booking for weddings. The entire grounds can be booked for your private event, and includes onsite lodging, multiple kitchens, a beautiful post-and-beam studio, and hiking trails through out their 150 acres.
There was truly love in the air that day: Power couple Amanda & Joe over at Kamp Weddings shot the whole day. Working with this duo is a dream, as they have such a fun and relaxed way of bringing out the fun and personality in everyone on set. The couple who modeled for us were already engaged to be wed the following summer! It was so fun to see this couple "trial run" an experience they were already set to have together! Their genuine connection and love really spilled over into the shots.
The ceremony design was set-up in the beautiful post & beam studio. Inspired by the water color print of the back drop, we chose floral elements that mimicked the wispy brush strokes, dripping paint, and natural textures that would connect the theme to the Catskill landscape.
I love the way airplants look in many different types of designs, but on an archway or backdrop is where I really see them shine! Displayed in the beautiful post-and-beam studio, these incredible extra large airplants anchored the focal points of the backdrop, and their growing tendrils were reminiscent of an artists brush stroke!
The outdoor porch of the farm house is a perfect place to set up for rehearsal dinner, or morning after breakfast. Pairing off the cool blue tones of the table setting and salt crystal pinks of the candle holders, we created an overflowing arrangement filled with cymbidium orchids, blue hydrangeas, soft pink spray roses, and of course - a lot of texture! Thanks for having us Mount Tremper!
