What an honor it was to be asked to create floral art and installations for Newark Museums Annual Legacy Gala! This event fulfilled all our creative thirst, as we produced a statement branch arrangement, sculptural floral pieces, hanging and wild floral installations, and decorated 50 tables for their dinner!
Starting off in the museum court for cocktail hour, it was an incredible feeling to have our work displayed near the iconic art in the room. Cherry blossoms created a towering showpiece arrangement in the center of a wrap around bar. Tall enough for bartenders to walk around, this piece reached over 10 feet tall and wowed guests as it was one of the first things they saw as entering the space.
Also displayed inside was our sculptural floral pieces placed on museum columns at each entry to the room. Statement hanging amaranths and phalaenopsis orchids dripped down the front of each column.
Moving inside the tent where the dinner was held, we brought florals up high with large installations on the tent poles. These pieces helped to warm up the space, and it felt like you were sitting under a floral canopy!
On either side of the stage, we worked gold chicken wire up and down the tent structure with cool bursts of wild florals.
On the perimeter of the room, we added more height to the space with funky elevated floral arrangements. Chunky delphinium popped out of the sides asymmetrically, giving a fresh silhouette.
For the rest of the dinner tables, low centerpieces of anthurium, peonies, ranunculus, and other mixed florals popped off the purple table cloths.
Thank you so much Newark Museum for having us be part of your gala! It was truly an event to be remembered!
