Stone Tavern Farm * Roxbury, NY * October 14, 2017

Nothing like that sweet mountain air! I love that my work often takes me out of the city and to some of the most beautiful areas around! Upstate, the trees are a little taller, the air is a little sweeter, and all you can hear for miles is the breeze & crickets. The 400 acre horse farm that is Stone Tavern Farm up in Roxbury New York was the perfect location to enjoy the amazing upstate fall landscape in October.
The bright orange foliage all around popped in the panoramic landscape views. I loved how the soft pastels of the bridal party really complimented the peaceful upstate setting!
For the floral direction, we kept the palette white and green as to not compete with the beautiful fall colors. There was a focus on texture and movement, and the "wild & free" feeling that spending a weekend on a 400 acre horse farm will surely give you. Little viburnum berries popped in the bouquets and was a nod to the navy accent color in the men's outfits.
The couple got married under an incredible Sugar Maple tree that was in a perfect stage of autumn gold.
The reception happened in a beautiful renovated barn, complete with heated floors and REAL BATHROOMS! (for those of you planning location weddings, do you feel me on the indoor plumbing luxury?)
We decorated the long farm tables with an abundance of florals, arranged in mismatched containers from our antique glassware collection. The old style glassware and amber bottles complimented perfectly with the barn setting.
Keeping in theme with the white and green florals, we brought color to the table through the taper candles. This was a really fun way to tie in their accent color of navy to the design!
We also accented the ends of the runner with a sweet rosemary & eucalyptus bunch, using the navy ribbon as another color pop!
We focused the bar arrangement on greenery, texture, and movement.
As the venue boasts a "no shut down time or noise restrictions," I'm sure this party went all night!
From The Bride:
"The florals were really more than we could have ever imagined ourselves. You did such a good job of sensing our style, and really creating a vision for us! The tablescapes and flowers really brought such a big, empty venue to life! People are still mentioning the flowers to us now, and family still has them drying on display!"
Thank you LeighAnn and Taylor for letting us be part of such a special day!
P.S: We booked a night at Highlanders View B&B not too far away from the venue for the night. We stayed in their "Suite" room, that had a hot tub! Very essential to resting achy muscles after such a long wedding week!
Our hosts, Patty & Leam were so nice and cooked us an amazing dinner that night (complete with brownies!) We woke up the next morning to the most delicious egg breakfast produced from their chickens right on their farm!
Also, the view was A++. I give them two thumbs up! It is a great place to stay if you are working or attending an event in the area. Getting a home cooked meal when you are traveling & working in a rural area was such a treat! We really appreciated the hospitality, so thank you!!
I also grabbed this fun pic of the candle aftermath when we went back for breakdown. If you know me, you know I'm in love with candle light, even the drippy messy sculpture it produces afterwards!
