A Joyful Spring Wedding at Rock Island Lake Club

Bright Blooms + Lakeside Charm

Victoria + Daniel’s June wedding hit spring’s sweet spot: peonies were peaking, the lake was glowing, and the whole day felt effortless and full of joy. Rock Island Lake Club set the scene for bold florals, easy elegance, and a little lakeside magic.

A Playful Vision in Bloom

Victoria wanted her wedding flowers to be bright, fun, and completely full of life - just like her! We designed a floral palette bursting with vibrant pinks, sunny yellows, and soft blues, focusing on seasonal blooms like peonies, ranunculus, delphinium, snapdragons, and garden roses. This cheerful color story became the heartbeat of the wedding design and set the tone for the festive celebration ahead.

Pre-Ceremony Moments by the Lake

Before the ceremony began, the bridal party brought out fun sun parasols for portraits by the lake — the perfect nod to the springtime sunshine. Victoria + Daniel then tucked into the shaded wooded area of the property for more intimate portraits, capturing a calm moment before the festivities began. With Rock Island Lake Club’s natural setting as a backdrop, every photo had a picture perfect backdrop.

A Colorful Ceremony with a Meadow-Inspired Aisle

The couple chose to keep the lakeside ceremony arbor beautifully simple, letting the natural dark wood structure of the venue shine. A large asymmetrical floral spray on the bride’s side added the perfect pop of color. But the real showstopper? Six bold floral arrangements lining the aisle, creating a meadow effect that brought color and life to the space.

Fresh and Fun Tablescapes

For the reception, Victoria + Daniel leaned into Rock Island’s long farmhouse tables, and created a vibe that was romantic and still full of fun. White table runners and floating candles set the stage for delicate floral budvases, filled with the best the season had to offer: fluffy peonies, delicate ranunculus, and playful snapdragons. These garden-inspired florals gave each table its own personality while still feeling cohesive and intentional.

To tie everything together, the ceremony’s aisle meadow arrangements were repurposed in front of the sweetheart table, adding a lush, floral moment that anchored the head of the room. This thoughtful reuse brought even more color and texture into the reception space, creating a seamless floral story from ceremony to dinner.

Seasonally Inspired, Designed with Heart

At Strange Vine, we believe that the best floral designs start with the season itself — and this early June wedding was a perfect example. We sourced from trusted local New Jersey flower farms and wholesalers, allowing us to work with the best blooms of the season and create designs that felt both elevated and organic. Our wedding florals always aim to reflect not just the beauty of the flowers, but the spirit of the couple — and Victoria + Daniel’s celebration was nothing short of joyful, radiant, and unforgettable.
